Train Ride

So, since I unexpectedly got the whole weekend off I decided we WILL do something fun.
We gave Chad the choice between going to OMSI and going on a train ride. He actually had a hard time deciding, but went with the train ride.

Despite terrible traffic getting there, we ended up at the Chehalis-Centralia Railroad and took a ride on their steam train. The ride was just over an hour and we had a great time!

Here is the picture Chad took of the train coming in.
Chad surrendered the camera to dad for the next few.

Dad got up nice and close to get these pictures of the train coupling up to the coaches.

The train then moved two of the coaches to the siding and came back to give us our ride.

Of course, we sat right at the front of the train.
The beautiful view of course, included cows. Lots of them!

At one point in the ride, the engineer really opened her up!

Chad was so excited that we were the reason the rail crossing went off.
At the turn around point the train detaches from one end and switches tracks to get to the other.

On our way back we had a nice view of the track we were leaving behind. There was even a hose run under the rails to get across the track!

 Thanks for the ride #15!
