Chad's first Day!

Well, after many phone calls between the school district and the transportation department, I got Chad's kindergarden year all worked out. Now I just have to adapt to the crazy schedule (every other Wednesday he has off and the Wednesdays he does go, it's in the morning instead of the afternoon!). Thank heaven's for my Cozi calendar and screen saver, now I can always see what I should be doing.

Chad's first day was September 2, 2010. He chose his outfit carefully (he loves his pants with belts by the way!) He was playing in the yard while Nana and mom were trying to take pictures, he was really way too excited to stand still for long.

Chad rode to school with Nana (he gets to ride with mom all the time, it's more fun to ride in other people's cars!).

Chad goes to Woodland Elementary, Mrs. Madson's PM kindergarden class. She invited the parents to stay for the first half hour so that she could tell us about how she was going to be teaching the class. The kids got a tour of the school and the adults got to know Mrs. Madson. Chad did an amazing job letting me leave, one extra hug (just a little clinging) and he let me leave.

Everyone who spoke to Chad on the first day got told that he did not have a good day. He spent the rest of the day and all the way up to bed time trying to convince me to let him skip school the next day. Well, the next day came and Chad was just as excited to go to school. This time, anyone who spoke with Chad was told he had a great day and he made a friend.

On September 7, we thought we had the bus schedule figured out, and went to our bus stop. Well, we didn't. He got on the bus and I had to take him right back off. It was headed to the wrong school.

On Wednesday, September 8, Chad had is first Wednesday off. We had a fun rainy day, we watched Misty Island Rescue (Thomas and Friends) probably several times.
On Thursday, September 9, Chad was again unwilling to go to school or ride the bus. That is until we were at the bus stop and he saw the bus coming down the street.

He brought home his first piece of art, and I'm so excited that we have a flat bed scanner. I will try to keep as much of the physical paper as I can, but I can at least scan nearly everything.
I've missed Chad the days he's been at school thus far, but it's also been great to see the changes in Chad already.
